Top Digital Leaders Achieve Success at Digital Masters Awards

This article was published on May 26, 2020

A big congratulations to our customers, including Funding Circle, PhotoBox, Secret Escapes, Wahanda and WorldRemit, for reaching the final of The Up Group's Digital Masters Awards.

Now in its second year, the Digital Masters Awards celebrate Europe’s finest senior talent and have become the gold standard for excellence in the digital disciplines. It is the first event of its kind to showcase the dedicated executives responsible for delivering the innovation and economic growth that are the hallmarks of Europe’s digital revolution. To be named on the shortlist is a mark of enduring excellence, a recognition that these business leaders are amongst the very best in the world at what they do.

Winners were determined by a distinguished judging panel, including leading investors Robin Klein, Sonali De Rycker, Daniel Waterhouse and Henrik Persson, and announced at a glittering ceremony in London last week in front of 800 of Europe’s most high-profile digital executives, entrepreneurs, board members and investors. Particularly notable was Pam Burton of Funding Circle, who picked up the Google Award for Women in Digital on the night.

As chief operating officer of the world’s leading online marketplace for business loans, Burton has helped make Funding Circle one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Europe. The firm is exclusively focused on small businesses and more than £600m ($1bn) has been lent to 8,000 businesses in the UK and USA. Companies can borrow directly from a wide range of investors, including more than 40,000 people, the UK Government, local councils, a university and a number of financial organisations.
